Winding down

December 29th, 2005

I’m beginning to wind down after a nice christmas break. A lot of things have happened that I wanted to happen…namely kitchen and getting a new camera. I’m proud to say that I’m a new owner of the Canon Digital Rebel XT….oooo I can’t wait to start shooting!

The kitchen has been coming along quite well too! Renee and I have been working on laying down the cement board to provide a base for the tile. Tile will hopefully start tomorrow or Friday…depending on when the parents can come up and help (although I can probably get it started myself). The goal is to have the kitchen finished before school starts…but I am unsure if that will happen. For those of you who do read my website–at least what there is right now, I will be having a kinda photo display/project outline up sometime.

I’m finally into the last few days of school. I can’t wait to graduate and start making some real bucks. With this semester I decree that I will kick some serious ass on grades…take no mercy type!

Finals are done

December 18th, 2005

Alls well when finals are done and over with. I’m excited to say that they’re complete.

So far:
A-
A
B+
B

I was so close to having that A on the B+ too! Oh well, one more semester…I can’t wait!

Design

December 16th, 2005

I, again, plague myself with the intentions to design something for my webpage…however, keep running into a veritble wall of information block. I mean, I have all these designs, things I want to incorporate, etc…yet my mind simply wants to be lazy.

I think that’s my main problem with everything right now. It’s Christmas 2005 and I’m wanting to take my 2 weeks worth of winter break and just be lazy…

So far, so good.

Midweek

December 15th, 2005

So it’s midweek of finals…and let me say I haven’t study before as much as I have this week. Maybe it’s because I can see an end in site…in fact, yes, that’s what it is. I think I was getting tired in school of rehashing things which I already knew from before. I mean, yea, I did learn some new things but pondering the ratio of learned : not learned, I would say it’s 80/20…

However, I can say that I’m graduating with a degree which is renowned throughout the US as being a good one. I’m graduating as a ‘well-rounded competent character…’. It’s nice to know that, seriously. And with my experience currently already under my belt, I should be pulling down some nice moola out of school. But here’s the point where my mind starts to go in the state of fright…I’M ABOUT TO FUCKING GRADUATE…HOLY SHIT! I’m at the point in life where everything could mean something, and anything might screw me over for the rest of my life.

Well, maybe that’s not the way to look at it. I’m about to graduate and get a good job, somewhere. I am, however, kinda scared about the process. I think I’m mostly scared at the prospect of actually landing myself a job that I like. Secondary to this, performing to my employer’s liking.

Aside from this fear, today I have my first final for INFSCI 1066-Internet Construction. All should go well with the final, but I’m fearful I might be missing some notes that the teacher will be testing on. I can, though, quiz myself on any of the answers and come out with the right one–I guess that’s a good sign :-D .

Here’s my slight rant for the day, just needed to get thoughts out before I head into my first test.

So it has begun, the days of endless sleep, complete immersion for studying, and well, the hope of making a good grade on all my finals. This week and the next are, seriously, going to be a pretty trying time.

Luckily I have saved up on my sleeping points…so I should be able to push through tireless times. So what am I going to need for this. Well, the essentials I’ve come up with so far: powerbook, comfy clothes, tea bags, money for coffee…oh yea, and some comfy shoes (most likely my birkenstock clogs).

Study sessions commence tomorrow…you’ll most likely find me lodged on the second floor of the Hillman library…steaming tea in hand.
