This is just insane…I mean, is this actually true. Read for yourself. I thought that the story had a few too many holes in it.

Of milkshakes and plastic cups
June 27th, 2005
So, I had an awesome day today. My girlfriend, Becky (her friend, and becoming my friend) and I went to the wave pool up in south park. I hadn’t been there in almost 10…maybe 12 years. It was somewhat a trip down memory lane with the usual “I thought this was bigger…” type remembrance. All in all, though, I got a nice amount of sun. And this time, I didn’t get burnt! A definite change from the ordinary. We spent close to 4 hours there and had a blast. I got a little tired after a while and just wanted to head back home.
So on our way back we all seemingly had this craving for milkshakes. Not being able to find a place that specifically catered to ice cream type treats we settled for the lesser known milkshake place, Steak n’ Shake. They had a variety of shakes…all great!
Here’s my confusing observation for the day though. As we’re headed back into the house my girlfriend and Becky decide that the plastic cups that we got our shakes in were nice…so they wanted to keep them. I mean, why the hell do you keep a plastic cup. I have plenty of glass cups back at my place, all perfect and clean. I know, I know…I sound mad. Not really…I just find these certain little oddities in life funny sometimes.
This week should be a fun one. I have many projects for work on my belt and I need to manage each and every one with the utmost care. I guess it’s part of life and managing things.
Credit can bite me
June 25th, 2005
The weather is prime for chilling out. In fact, it seems so much more comfortable this year compared to last year. I actually find myself wanting to be outside instead of planted in front of the computer….cooling off. I have realized a problem that I have…and I think most Americans have it.
Credit
Now, I’m not saying that I have a problem with it now…nor have I really had a problem ever with it. Simply…I see credit as this awesome thing to get the things I want. Yes…and that’s the way it probably wants to be seen. I was seriously thinking yesterday (and about to act before reality set in) on buying a motorcycle Kawasaki 636rr. My buddy Josh just got one and relayed the financing to me:
Price: $9260
Financing: 2 years at 4.9%…$50 bucks a month.
I mean, $50 a month is so damned affordable. Hell, I could get it and certainly deal with it. But the point of reality hit me saying…why do it now when I get out of school in less than a year. Well…that very point caused me to move from my conviction. So I’m not going to do it anymore.
But the point is, credit sucks because it makes things so easy to purchase.
My rant for the month
June 22nd, 2005
Now, before I start, I must admit that I’m am fully guilty of the underlying text. I’m not perfect, but I’ve realized that certain things need to change in my life and I need to be a certain way for things to work out well.
My father always used to and still does praise the idea of ‘follow through’. Follow through in my definition is sticking to something even if there are certain adversities tied to it. I see too many people this day and age who simply do not follow through. Or…if something better comes along (at the time)…they want to take that route. Have a conviction for christ sake!
I hear it all too often (and have done it many times myself) where a person looks back and is really mad for the decision that they made. Most of the time the decision is made on something completely trivial, such as chilling friends, etc. Now when I call friends trivial, I don’t mean it in a mean way. Simply stated, your friends are going to be around unless you do something completely mean to you. So why not, as Dead Poet’s Society once quoted (and consequently taught me the term), Carpe Diem!
I guess sometimes it is too much to ask for, and in that sense, it’s a learned ability. I have definitely learned it!
The beach is so close to being here. I can’t wait as it will give me some time to relax before the strenuous semester ahead of me. I still need to register for one more class. Hopefully soon….any suggestions?
Passion falls to much ado about nothing
June 18th, 2005
Do you ever find it funny when you have this great internal passion to do something…say…on the computer. However, when you arrive at whatever that situation might be, you pretty much loose that inspiration to do it in the first place. That is what just happened to me…entering the office with a cause but sitting down to a computer without a cause…UGH.
Today is going to be rather eventful…I’m going to a wedding, then to the after party, and who knows where else after that.
Teddy and Pharoah are racing around today. Pharoah has this little bug in her that makes her want to beat me up the stairs everytime I walk up them. But once she makes it up the first flight of stairs, she decides that she needs to round the corner like a BMW and race up the rest. It’s a riot most of the time because of that rear-wheel drive car appearance.
