Sleep Works!

May 25th, 2010

So recently a I found myself with a problem. I couldn’t concentrate, I felt extremely flighty when it came to memory, etc etc etc. I was really getting concerned with it.

Many people would say, well you just need to get more sleep…you’re working yourself too hard. I didn’t want to believe it, but you know what, you’re right! Starting this past weekend I made myself (and it was hard to do) get at least 10+ hours of sleep on the weekend. I still got my stuff done, because I was still staying up late. But the biggest change overall is I’ve started to fall asleep at least near 11pm on the week nights. This afforded me at least 8 hours of sleep.

It’s almost mid week and I feel awesome. I don’t feel like everything is a blur and finally (finally!) I can think in a concise fashion. I predict in the next few weeks of this I’ll eventually return to my normal self. Maybe even play around with different sleep schedules.

Another Day, more work.

June 16th, 2009

My first day back to work in almost 3.5 weeks has gone alright. I was able to (for the most part) collect my thoughts and prepare mentally for the task of getting through, well, tasks. However, today I was feeling rather strange mentally speaking. Kinda like that cloud one feels when they’ve had too much to drink. Well, I definitely had that cloud today…and it wasn’t fun. I think it might be due to the ‘boat’ lag I might be feeling.

Aside from that, I had a number of good things news wise happen today. First, financially Renee and I are doing great (through a number of key movements I’ve made recently). Second, I’m working hard to advertising my web capabilities within the realm of server-side coding. So far, it seems like we might have a few bites. If I price everything correctly, all should work out.

Other things life, Renee and I are heading to Pittsburgh soon to take care of some wedding things. We’re meeting with both the wedding hall (Bella Sera) and some DJ’s. I think all should be productive. Aside from work, we’re going to spend some much needed time with various parts of the family.

I really think a lot of good things are going to start happening in the Wardzinski (and soon to be Wardzinski) household.

I’m Home!!

June 15th, 2009

Finally after being out to sea for two weeks for my job, I made it back onto stable land. I have to admit…it’s nice! Getting back to the house has been even better. Renee had been working hard for much of the time I was gone…but when I got back the house was pristine! She does such a nice job with things!

The only thing, though, that I had to worry about was the largely over grown lawn. It had apparently been raining the entire time I was gone and, as a consequence, my lawn grew like it was in the rain forest. Fortunately the lawn mower was able to chomp through much of it. But there’s little piles of mulched grass lying everywhere.

The being out of sea part of the last month went by like nothing happened. I was on a sub-surface nuclear submarine charting somewhere on the east coast. It was great to see everything in action…like a well oiled machine. After a while though I began to lose track of time on the boat. It’s most likely because after long shifts, it is troublesome to really gauge the time of day. Yes, clocks are there, but the light of the day works hand in hand when really feeling out what time it is. But with that over, now comes the getting back to the grind at work. I have a lot of stuff I need to get done in the next few months. Hopefully I can get a leg up on it sooner rather than later.

Mini Vacation Day #3

So far the beach trip has been awesome. The weather, which was supposed to be rainy all week, has been sunny and 80 degrees. I love this place!

Started Planting a Garden

March 13th, 2009

Today in fact!  The first step I really had to take care of was procuring the seeds and turning the soil in the 5×15 little garden.  After work today I turned in approximately 3 cubic feet of peat moss to make sure everything drains well.

Currently as it stands (and once the weather gets nicer) I’m planning on growing the following:

  • An assortment of peppers (for jarring and eating later).  The most important out of the bunch are the Hungarian Hot peppers.  Those should be yummy.
  • Tomato Plants (called Big Rainbow).
  • Catnip
  • Cilantro
  • Carrots
  • Zucchini
  • and Basil!

Hopefully I’ll get a lot of it to grow…maybe so much so the yield will have to be distributed throughout work!  Pictures when I officially start planting.
